Redisovering Initial D on Hulu, my son loves cars, and he enjoyed the car action in the show (not the talking parts though). My wife hit upon the idea to make him a AE86 car out of cardboard, something that fans and friends have done before. I built it in about 2 1/2 weeks, finishing it at con, using a copy box as a base and other boxes to make the window frames, sideview mirrors, rearview, headlights and tires. I used printouts of the Japanese writing and license plate found online. I cut some dowels to fit inside and attach cloth straps to them to hang on his shoulders.
