For some reason Yuna's Lady Luck dress sphere looked like it would be fun to make. I knew I could sell it later if it came out badly. I hope the person I ended up selling it too isn't reading this.
It's made of acetate Baroque Satin, it was on sale for $2 a yard. I'm not normally a fan of acetate. (If I can disolve it in nail polish remover, is it really fabric?) I knew I couldn't get dye to stick to it so I thought I would paint the gradient. I lack the patience for that, so I just cut the part I attempted to paint off and replaced it with purple fabric. The first time I painted the numbers on I did it backwards and tried to scrub the paint off. It didn't all come off so the design is kind of fuzzy. The belt is made of really horrible sculpey coins that I made. I should have waited until it was done and draped the waistband. The collar, that didn't come out right because I didn't buy enough cording and tried to make what I had work. I had the hair thing, but it broke while I was trying to take pictures of this thing.
It's underlined with some lining fabric I got from joann's. That's probably the only thing that's saves it from being a complete failure. I did learn that satin makes really awesome bias tape. Sometimes I want to redo it because I know I can make it fit so much better now.
