These are i.Fairy Dolly + Brown Circle lenses. They're advertised as "brown", but they're more like a golden amber on the outer edges of the contact with a black limbal ring.
I bought these colored contacts from lensvillage.com for my Kaede Kayano (Assassination Classroom) cosplay, though I don't believe they're carrying it at the moment.
Effect Diameter: 16.2mm
Water content: 55%
Natural eye color: Brown
Enlargement: 5/5
Color: 4/5
Comfort: 4.5/5
I wasn't aiming for enlargement, but it certainly doesn't hurt with cosplay. It does give the large, anime doe-eye appearance with the black rim around the edge. I love it!!
These contacts are normally super comfortable and I wore them all day for a photoshoot and two conventions. Although, when I went to wear them for AX 2015, I must have either scratched my eye or didn't clean my eye concacts well enough because one of my contacts refused to cooperate and it felt like I had something in my eye the whole day and my eye kept watering. I ended up taking them out halfway through the con after we finished the group photoshoot. But I'm thinking it was a one time thing because I didn't have a problem for my photoshoot (pictures shown here) in Chicago and I even forgot that I was even wearing them. Same happened for Ramencon which I attended a month after the photoshoot: I didn't feel them at all about an hour after I put them on!
As for the color, from up close and in sunlight the contacts give a brilliant golden-rim effect and I recieved many compliments for them! But from far away or in dark lighting they aren't very noticeable (as seen from below). My mother (who is still somewhat new to the cosplay scene, but is very supportive) said she thought they were beautiful and didn't creep her out like some of my other "natural" color contacts did. ![]()
Either way, these contacts were perfect for what I was trying to achieve and I would highly recommend them to other cosplayers because they're great on camera and for close-up shots. Or if you're not wanting to wear them for cosplay, you could always wear them for an everyday look for their comfort and limbal ring to make their eyes "pop"!
