I got to walk around with Fozzie (fozzness) as Simon and Kyle (Dumbapple) as Kamina! It was a dream come true getting to cosplay one of my favorite pairings again...thanks, Fozzie, for conceding to dress up like a dude from a series you barely know, just to make this fangirl happy. You're the best. <3 And Kyle made the most badass Kamina ever! I'm never going to get sick of Gurren cosplay...
I've had this one planned for a long time...I was really happy to finally get to it! Admittedly, it didn't turn out as fantastically/accurately as I'd been envisioning, but hey, you win some and you lose some. This outfit was 100% sewn and crafted by me, with the exception of my wig being from the lovely ladies at SakuraWigs.com--you guys are fantastic! I crafted the dress by altering a strapless pattern. It was my first time working with boning (and come to think of it, my first time sewing without any verbal or physical guidance--my first Nia costume was done entirely under Hannah aka han-pan's watch xD), and I'm still flabbergasted I managed to get the thing to stay up. The sleeves and "shawl" pattern were both hand-drafted and the star accents on the bells of the sleeves were hand-drawn and appliqued. The accessories are of craft foam and storebought jewels (no time to cast any of my own this time around!), and my red earrings are courtesy of my aunt, who is a jewelry hobbyist.
