This costume happened on the spur of the moment, when a few friends and I got really excited about the new Pokémon game (that was X/Y). Of course, Pokémon is forever! <3 I will probably never say no to a Pokémon costume (This is actually my second costume from Pokémon, after Ash himself.) I will also possibly never say no to being a villain ;) Let's be fashionable!!!
In addition to making sure we all made our costumes from the same / similar materials, I made the belt buckles for the whole team so they would be identical. Matching stuff always means more energy and time coordinating everything, but it was well worth it! It was a really fun and interesting costume to make, construction-wise. I had to learn a bunch of new techniques, such a making shorts and turning them into a bodysuit, working with stretch fabric, making funky vinyl boot covers and a visor. I was left unsatisfied with my shoulder pads (not enough time left) and visor (I still suck at Worbla...), but thankfully, the rest of the costume is pretty much exactly how I wanted it to look. It was unexpectedly comfy, too! That's always a plus :D
