Kobato isn't really the kind of character that I portray the most, but it was fun to be an innocent, naive young girl for once! :D
It started as a personal project / secret cosplay thing, where I wouldn't tell anyone what I was working on (to see if I was able to do it without revealing it to anyone!). In the end, almost no one among my friends actually knew the character, so it didn't have the projected effect of a "secret cosplay",... But it made me realize it's good to have cosplay projects to make by yourself (and here I mean not as a part of a group, although I always have a soft spot for groups :'D) so you can progress how fast or... how slow (!) you want.
In the end, I had a friend who was looking for a costume to make and I had her become my Fujimoto, because she'd dubbed him "Older Syaoran with glasses and a ponytail", and seeing as she's a Syaoran cosplayer, she would only need to find a suit and get glasses and extensions. ;D
This costume was made so it could eventually be entered in a masquerade and was presented in at Otakuthon 2012. Everything was made super carefully. I spent a lot of time on the embroidery of the skirt, patterning of the shirt and dyeing of the lace, and am still proud of this detailing job to this day.
