My RX-178 Gundam MK-II costume from Zeta Gundam
It took about 4 months to complete and is made from 1mm PVC & EVA foam. Some fiberglass was used to strengthen the torso.
I had 3 major goals for this suit. First was a universal system for the waist armor rigging, sound system and cooling fans so that they could be removed easily and used for other future suits. My second goal was to improve my level of detail. All the markings and logos are made from hand-cut 1mm PVC, painted, then glued to the armor. It gives a nice raised effect that is more durable than decals. The suit also incorporates many more lighting effects than any of my previous suits. My final goal was to improve mobility. The helmet has a magnetically attached faceplate that I can remove myself thanks to hinged shoulder panels. This lets me speak more clearly and see better when I need to get through a tough spot on the show floor. Overall compared to my previous suits the range of motion and comfort is greatly improved.
