Debuted at Katsucon 2017 - This costume took 3 months of everyday work to complete!
*This was an ULTIMATE DREAM COSTUME for me and I cannot believe it actually exists *-* <3
100% hand made from the wig to the shoes! This design was based on the Sakizou artworks. I took several of my favorite designs as well as a little of my own imaginings and mashed them together to create this costume design!
There is not a single part of this costume that wasn't somehow customized- even the trims were hand beaded and the hip flower silk painted by hand.
5,000+ Swarovski crystals cover the entire costume, thanks to the talented hands of The Restless Cosplay and our friend Sam, both who professionally crystal dance costumes (they go a mile a second!) Crystals and pearls cover the Venetian lace throughout and I hope to add even more to all the scarves/sashes/garter for the next wear!
I draped my cape on my dress form and finished the edges with a rolled lettuce hem. Then, it was airbrushed with textile paints to mimic watercolor brush strokes, then hand adorned with vintage paper/fabric flowers.
My tights were a cheap pair of dance tights (SO hard to find in white!!) that were adorned with beaded/embroidered stars and flowers. This was done by wrapping my legs in cling wrap, pulling the tights on over the wrap, and then tacking on each piece with Fabritack. Despite having to stand for an hour to let everything dry, this worked like a charm! Thanks to TheRestless Cosplay for helping me with this!
Wig was a beast....this wig was not my original base wig (which was stuck in customs during shipping...) but thanks to Amazon Prime, I had something to work with in time for the con! It was not made to be styled into a ponytail and required a complete overhaul/reworking of wefts in order to be usable (especially at the hairline). Once stubbed layer by layer with caulk, it was curled/styled then hand painted with washes of green/blush pink to give it a watercolored look.
