For this version of Garnet's dress, I went with the one she is wearing in the artbook. Since not many people do this version, I wanted to do something more unique to make it stand out.
I love cosplaying Garnet, she's such an amazing character. I hope to get a nice photoshoot of this in a cathedral or other palace-like setting sometime.

Gown: I drafted a pattern for this on my own, and I don't think it turned out too badly. The bodice is boned on the sides, and there is a bit of horsehair braid sewn at the top of the bodice to keep it's shape. I used a bridal satin with a dull-sheen. Admittedly, I had wanted the skirt to have a longer train, but I ran out of fabric. It's worn over a hoopskirt to hold it's shape.
Detailing: The vine detailing is all hand embroidered, while the gold design on the skirt is painted. This was my first time embroidering, and it's a lot easier than I would have thought. It didn't take me nearly as long to do as I thought it would have.
Underskirt: This is essentially constructed like a tiered circle-skirt, and is made of chiffon.
Sleeves: Made of bridal satin, with a ring sewn at the end for the middle fingers.
Headdress and armlets: This wasn't hard, but it was time consuming. It is made of craft foam with a wire base, and the raised designs are done in fabric paint. Chains were sewn in place, silver leafing was added, and the stones are made out of clay and painted with nailpolish. If you want a more detailed description, you can feel free to send me a PM.
Pendant: Made from a crystal ornament, with a topper made from clay.
Hairclip: Made from plastic and cabochons attached to a barrette.
Necklace and waist chain: Made from polymer clay and chains.
Wig: 'Eowyn' from Arda Wigs, wefted in the back for a little extra thickness. Extentions were glued onto the hairclip, to give the wig more lenght.
