Gwendolyn is one of my favorite characters, but unfortunately, her Valkyrie armor is SO hard to wear! So, I decided to make this version of Gwendolyn so that I could enjoy cosplaying her without having to wear all that bulky armor. I will take ballgowns any day over armor when comfort is involved! :D This costume was actually really easy and I pretty much marathoned all off Supernatural while making it. The top and sleeves are made of a super plush velvet. The top is boned and has a zipper closure in the back and I have a corset on underneath. The trim was hand sewn on. I actually made my own hoop skirt for this which was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I had a bunch of supplies to make one, so figured why not to save money. The dark blue is casa satin and the ruffles were hand gathered. The black underskirt is a heavy bridal satin and is multiple panels. My favorite find for this costume, though, was the light blue/grey fabric. It's this really lovely, shimmery fabric that is kind of like peach skin, but SO SOFT! It was a lucky find since I was planning on buying silk, but I stumbled upon this and absolutely loved it! The wig is Arda's Luthien in white.
