Since I only had the one reference image, I took inspiration for the rest of the outfit from RGVeda, traditional Indian clothing, and general "CLAMP" flair. I had a bunch of white crepe in my stash, so that's what I used for all the white. I wanted to add a bit more detail so I ordered trims from India for trimming the long shawl and bottom of the skirt. Not accurate, but I think it's beautiful. I had wanted to try embroidery for this, but ended up using paint instead for the peacock feather designs. I think it ended up working nicely and less time consuming. I think this is probably my favorite Sakura costume that I've done. It was a lot of fun to wear, and even though it's a lot of fabric, it's surprisingly really comfortable and I love the colors and overall look of the piece.
