Pretty pegasus knights are my life :] I am so glad this group actually happened at Katsucon. And I was surprised that a handful of people knew who I was! It was awesome though to have a little Sacred Stones group, it's one that I never thought would happen and it was just wonderful!
Starting with the spear since it's probably what I spent the most time on. Made out of insulation foam, carved, sanded, primed and painted. Pole breaks down for easy transport. I'm pretty pleased with the overall look and shape. It is based of the itty bitty little sprite of Tana's legendary weapon, Vidofnir. It's called "The winged spear" so I tried to give it the general interpretation of a bird with the sides as the wings. Overall, I think it turned out nicely! (Too bad August broke it taking it out of the car on the way home! AHAHAHAHA)
The dress was made from a faux linen that I snagged as a clearance fabric like 3 years ago for like $2 a yard with the exact intentions of this project so I'm glad that worked out! I used the same pattern that I used on my Nah and Sumia dresses and altered it for the split in front. The laces in front are just there for decoration, it zippers in the back. The black designs are done with suede and satin stitch applique. The ruffles are simple circle ruffles, finished with a rolling hem. The inside of the dress is lined. The skirt is made from silk crepe ,custom dyed with safari grey and sage fiber reactive dyes from Dharma. The boots were altered from a pair of regular white thigh high boots. I painted white vinyl in gold and added it on as I would bias tape.
The armor was a fun little reprieve back into working with leather after playing around with EVA foam and worbla. They are just basic wet formed, carved pieces. Nothing fancy. But it was fun to get to do some leather working again.
The wig is probably the part I am the least satisfied with on this. I didn't get to finish styling it as I would have liked but that's ok! I'm definitely planning on wearing this one again since I will have my Eirika next time <3
