Dream cosplay!
137 hours of embroidery went into this project along with blood, sweat, tears and fray check. Lots of fray check...
All embroidery work is done by hand! Bias tape also made by me.
Hoop skirt-Bought online.
Bottom Tier- Used a commercial pattern for the top part of the tier. Bottom half, I cut out strips of fabric and then made pleats out of them. The pleats were then sewn down so I would not need to worry about ironing them later.
Second tier-Made the skirt using a pattern piece for the bottom tier. White pieces were separately embroidered and then basted on before getting embroidered edges. There is interfacing in between the fabric and lining to help it keep the shape. The little dangly things are made from craft foam.
Third Tier-Used a store bought pattern and altered it to get the right shape. Interface is in between the layers to help it keep the shape. Lots of embroidery(like everything else...) Applique is made from the white fabric used for the bodice. The designs were drawn freehanded and then embriodered(satin+doublechain+chain+split stitch). The third tier is closed together by snaps.
Second set of photos by: Clouds Cosplay and Photography
Tabbard/Fourth Tier-Patterned as I went. Lots of embroidery and applique. It attaches with snaps.
Headpiece-Patterning it as I make it. Lots of embroidery and bias tape. Front part is made from a chain and jewelry pieces that have been painted gold.
Bodice-Altered a Chinese dress pattern. Hand embroidery work, like always.
