I really felt the need to cosplay Daenerys out of nowhere and decided that it would make for a nice Halloween costume.
The dress was made from Simplicity pattern 1008. It's made from linen, and all of the decoration on the shoulders is hand embroidered and smocked by me. I didn't add the big cutout she has in the back of her dress on the show. I think my main issue with this pattern that their method of adding a zipper is very odd and makes the dress a little difficult to get into. The bulk of the fabric around the seams made an invisible zipper damn near impossible to be put in correctly. It's kind of for that reason I won't be entering this costume into any craftsmanship contests. Someday I plan on making the cape. This is just a more "for fun" costume. I do hope to get some killer photography done for this costume when I'm around a dessert someday. I don't really have any great Game of Thrones type locations around me to take photos here in Ohio. Maybe I'll check around some of the castles. So some barnyard shots and selfies will have to do for now. ^_^"
The wig I'm using in these photos is a lace front from Wig is Fashion. It's honestly a great wig, but I think the cap is a bit small for the amount of hair I have to stuff underneath it, resulting in some wonky stuff going on up on the lace when I have it on. So this costume is temporarily retired until I can find a lace front with a roomier cap.
