When my friends have brilliant ideas really late at night while away at another con involving looping me into a cosplay group, I will definitely agree to join in on their shenanigans! They decided that I should be the child Cheria to go with their Hubert and Asbel, which ended up being the simplest outfit of the three.
Unlike most things I make, the dress is all once piece. The mock-blouse is satin that I ruffled with elastic thread. The straps and bows are quilt binding and bias tape, and the dress itself is peachskin that I dyed because that color apparently doesn't exist in anything besides low-thread count cotton. The part I'm most pleased with is the hem. I used iron-on hem tape to give it some volume at the bottom, and it worked even better than I hoped! The result was a playful bounce that invites me to spin in the dress at every given opportunity.
The group was a blast and I'm so glad we did it. In-character pictures were such a riot and I'm really looking forward to wearing this with them again.
