This costume was my heart and soul, my pride, and my dream. When I played Disgaea 2 for the first time I knew instantly that I wanted nothing more than to cosplay as Rozalin, so I did what any self-respecting cosplayer would do and I started collecting fabric.
Everything, for the most part, is satin except for the undergarments (bloomers, hoopskirt, and corset are cotton.) The wings are made from a matte upholstery vinyl over cardboard and heavy wire with a "tab" that tucks into the top/back of the corset. The wig is dyed and has a few packs of extensions sewn in for extra volume. All of the jewelry is made from sculpey and resin, but in the future I will probably refrain from using sculpey since it tends to break. I purchased the hoopskirt though I have since learned to make one.
This costume taught me resin casting, rolled hems, and how to make a corset. It gave me lessons in working with volume and it broke my first sewing machine. It taught me to walk in heels and it taught me a thing or two about wearing makeup. I made it when my skill level shouldn't have allowed but it worked out so well for me. All these years later, it's still one of my favorites.
