My sisters and I are determined to keep doing original Disney-crossover designs as the time allows. Fauns was a little bit of a last-minute idea for last year's DragonCon...so of course, we ended up designing them way more complicated than we had time for. The pattern we drafted for the legs consisted of eight pieces, not counting the tail. Pads were made for above the knees and behind the calves to simulate the right shape. Hooves were made out of worbla and bolted to the soles of our shoes. Add the wigs and horns and a bunch of accessories that were all made from scratch and you get...a bigger project than we'd counted on, but loads of fun. And really dang hot in Atlanta heat in August.
