I started making this costume before I even played Hakuouki! My friends were doing a Western outfits Hakuouki group and showed me a picture of Heisuke, and that was the spark. I already owned the black pants and white shirt and bought boots, so I just had to make the vest and the purple buttcape thing. The vest is self-explanatory and quite simple, but it was one of my first times making buttonholes by myself, and I gradient dyed the purple buttcape. I already owned a bokken from my past days of learning swordfighting, so I painted it and wrapped the handle. I did a lot of styling to the wig, which I purchased from eBay, receiving a longer than pictured wig that I chopped up a lot.
