This is my biggest sewing project. I'm calling whatever the outer layer of clothing his coat. All the embroidery on the coat was hand done. The zig-zags are tubes of the fabric I made the coat after ironed flat. All the charms are fiberglass resin cast. The buckles and snaps were made from worbla. The chestplate is water formed leather that is engraved. My husband made that and the trombone sword which we both love. The only bad thing about this costume is that I made the boots in the hotel on the Friday night of the convention so they aren't as pretty as they should be. I'm about to remake them.
