I just love Sucy! I have been wanting to make one of these cute witch uniforms since the Little Witch Academia OVAs came out, and finally settled on making Sucy, my favorite character, despite the predicted struggles with a face eating wig and her long skirt versus a cuter short one. She's just too much fun not to!
Wig is a Buttercup Silky in Antique Rose. I teased the base a little and curled the ends with heat and Got2BGlued hairspray. It's THICK though and eats my face! The main fabric is blackberry bengaline suiting, lining is deep orchid casa stretch matte charm satin, and the belt and hat band are Ultrapreme sandwiched with interfacing.
The hat was my own pattern I drafted. I love how it hooks at the end! I used the heaviest craft interfacing and wire in the brim. For the robes, I combined 3 patterns: a hood, a high-neckline A-line dress, and an ankle length skirt. I altered it to fish tail even more at the bottom and to have bell sleeves.
The buckles are 6mm craft foam that I cut out, cleaned up and beveled the edges with a flex shaft, and painted with acrylic paints. My husband made the mushroom from a Smooth-On foam product and I painted it. He also took the first set of photos!
My second set of photos is by Bokehberry Photography. I updated the hat by putting heavier interfacing in the brim of the hat and removing the wire. I also took in the dress since I had lost weight.
