I won best Master's Craftsmanship with this set of costumes (My son was Sakura) at Phoenix Comicon 2011. I loved this game, and when it came to weapons I had to be super creative. The feather sword is actually made from pieces of a broomstick covered in white resin that was continuously poured over it forming a thick center core, then slowing adding more pieces to get the feather effect. The handle is shaped foam with a polymer clay for the hand grip. The wings are small, so they have a little harness under that just pops through some large button holes I have through the jacket and shirt.
