Once upon a time I finished the sixth volume of Scott Pilgrim and as soon as I set it down I went to Goodwill and told myself if I could find at least the right shoes, I'd cosplay this outfit.
The jacket was found at Goodwill and modified. I added custom straps to the shoes with hand-placed studs and hand-made buckles. The dress was completely patterned by me and made from - gasp - satin from SAS. I made a tulle underskirt to go underneath it but it was flat and unnoticeable because I didn't quite understand the concept of a petticoat, or a circle skirt, or using tulle. The hair clip was made from felt hand-stitched together. The bag was completely patterned by me, unfortunately I made it before I found out what heavy interfacing was. Tt was made with broadcloth and the reverse side of a glitter satin from the remnants bin... I think that's where I got my love of using the wrong side of satin!
The wig was purchased second-hand from Coscom. It was super bright so I used a Sharpie to add lowlights, all by hand. I also curled it all myself.
At the time I was very proud of how hard I strived for accuracy. I think I did a damn good job for my skills at the time, especially since this was long before the color versions of the comics came out so at the time it was hard to know what the canon colors were.
This is currently being remade, I just haven't had an excuse to finish it yet since I don't go to many comic conventions.
