My first attempt at sewing a body suit and gloves. My first attempt at building a helmet. And my first attempt at any kind of wings. Body suit was sewn from a modified figure skating pattern. The veins were painted on with glittery blue puff paint, then the whole suit was airbrushed with around 15 different shades of blues, greens and purples to give the suit a mottled, decaying kind of look.
NOTE: Due to my inability to paint the suit while waring it, I enlisted the help of Lady Vincira to help me paint the veins on the suit and then paint over the veins for the mottled affect.
Helmet was constructed with foam core, roughly 30 large sticks of hot glue, ductape, and paper clay. It was then primed and painted completely black before I sent over every nook and cranny with silver rub'n'buff before being sealed in. The helmet has a light over one eye to give the illusion that I don't have an eye.
The wings were large pieces of craft foam cut to shape and reinforced with fencing wire. Hot glue was used to create all the swirly details and then they were airbrushed with 8 shades of red and purple.
Both the wings and the stomach tubing have strong magnets glued to them, with the matching magnets glued to a tank top that is worn under the suit to relieve strain on the suit material itself.
