This costume was born from a deep nostalgic necessity to cosplay from Pokemon, but no characters that I could actually pull off due to one reason or another. Eventually, when my friend wanted to do Whitney, I settled on the Johto region & Jasmine, & as I worked on props for her, actually became quite attached to the quiet & shy Steel type Gym Leader of Olivine City. The Magnemite was created by a friend who was into plushie making & thankfully was looking to experiment with round plushies (I think she even got a grade on it in class XD). The dress was bought from a random shop on the Internet, but had two problems: 1) there was a giant hole in the side due to shoddy craftsmanship, & 2) no ruffle on the bottom. Thankfully, another friend was able to help me do that.

Honestly, this outfit was only made possible because of my friends :)

There was no wig due to the commissioned wig I ordered not showing up in time & being ruined by still wet hair product when I received it over a week late (also wasn't even close to the right color & not even styled properly. That was the end of wig commissions for me).

Despite the insanity it took to have her con ready, she was a ton of fun to wear & the Pokemon gathering for 2011 was just as awesome :)

She may come out of retirement someday, when I gather some gym leaders again, but until then, she is a fond memory :)
