I love all things Studio Ghibli. If I had the funds, I cosplay all the Ghibli because I love it that much. However, Arrietty is one of the few that I love a little more than the rest due to a time before I knew what anime or cosplay was/that it existed, & did little else but read books in my spare time. I read the original book The Borrowers in 4th grade & did a book report on it, absolutely loving it. When I found out this movie was coming out, it wasn't so much "should I do this?" as "how can I get this done in time for Fanime this year & how can I make that hair clip?"

This is very much a store bought cosplay, with some really excellent finds at Target & the boots from Amazon. The bag was the only commissioned piece, found on Etsy, though all the remaining props (pin sword, belt loop w/rope, & working hair clip) were made by me. The "sugar cube" is just a perfect sized rough styrofoam cube.
