My first official foray into cosplay & prop making!
Well, at least the first one I have pictures of anyway >.>
Yes, that Silence Glaive was my first prop I ever made. Let it never be said that I started off easy!
Back in my day, a simpler time when Sakura had just released the Clow Cards, YuGiOh was about Duelist Kingdom, & Goku had only died a handful of times, the gateway anime drugs were of the KidsWB!, Toonami, & AdultSwim late night anime block variety, & my precious time watching these shows was limited to the hour before dinner on Friday nights & Saturday mornings at my grandparents' house (they had cable, where we didn't at my house). One of my favorites was a little show you've probably never heard of called Sailor Moon.
I loved this series. A LOT.
One day in high school, a cute little purple sailor scout caught my eye in our early morning internet browsing. One thing led to another, & soon I became so associated with her, my nickname & cosplayer handle for many years was Saturn-chan.
I used this cosplay for 3 years, & despite having bought it on eBay, I was proud of it, because I had to find all of the accessories seperately or make them. It made me love cosplay, made me love this crazy little hobby that takes an atrocious amount of my spare time & extra cash. It made me push my limits.
I miss it very much.
