A bit of backstory: this costume is truly a labor of love. I was introduced to Dead Fantasy (& by extension, the rest of Monty Oum's work) on a whim by a friend who insisted I'd love it the summer of 2012 while we were house sitting. When I got to Namine, there was no question in my mind that I could, would, & had to do this; after all, this was my favorite Kingdom Hearts character getting to be an awesome badass & look good doing so. A lot of hard work went into procuring items & drafting/making props, but by the time Fanime 2013 rolled around, things literally fell apart on me the night before I was leaving & despite having the outfit finished, without the props she just wasn't con ready. I took a year off from cosplay, & when I returned, fully intended to have her finished, maybe even take up my friend who is a huge Rooster Teeth fan on her idea to find a way to go to RTX as Namine. I bought materials for the Vincent Keyblade I hadn't worked on yet, a few more items for her wings & Lunar Eclipse. I was ready.

& then we got the news Monty had passed away.

As we heard the news, there was a little paragraph that caught my eye at the end of the blog post on Rooster Teeth: "In lieu of flowers, we ask that you simply do something creative. Use your imagination to make the world a better place in anyway that you can. If you know Monty like we do, then you know he would certainly be doing that if he were able to."

Thus lit the fire to make this a remembrance, even if it is small, to show how much I loved this little series that made me push past my limits as a prop maker, & a thanks to the man who made it & made so many people happy.
Rest in peace Monty, & thank you.
