This was one of those costumes that was chosen on an absolute impulse. NO REGRETS.
Pleasantly surprising was how comfortable it is to wear. Underneath is just a long sleeved top in a conveniently perfect shade of yellow, and red tights. The dress is made from scrimfoam (a foam with a fabric backing which can be sewn together and is AMAZING, with the only downside being the constant smell of new car) with each piece covered with PVC.
It was made in a hurry, so there are some segments I will remake if I wear her again, which I hope to - in particular, the armholes, the bottom hem, and the chest window. These are currently folded over, and held down with duct tape on the inside. This works fine as a temporary measure, but duct tape tears the scrim foam when removed, and it's also possible to see it peeking through in places. When I get a chance, I will make facings for the armholes and chest window to give a proper sewn edge, and sew the hem.
