I always enjoy cosplaying characters that are a bit off the beaten path. Traysi is one of the more well-traveled NPCs in Breath of the Wild, so you'll see her name in the Rumor Mill publications laying around at stable inns, and you can follow her around Gerudo Town as she finds out what's newsworthy. But like most of the NPCs making Hyrule feel more alive and vibrant, she doesn't get cosplayed often. In the last couple weeks before SakuraCon 2017 I was playing BotW and feeling blah about my cosplay options when I took a good look at her sturdy traveling outfit and cute braids and realized I would wear the heck out of that outfit. So I embarked on what is probably one of my fastest cosplay builds ever, and knocked out all the clothing sewing in about a week! I bought a wig the first day of the con, took it home and styled it, and had a great time the next day following other BotW cosplayers around as if getting the scoop. A few months later prior to PAX West 2017, I put the time in to get her accessories done, and built her sandals, lantern, pouch, and gloves, and re-dressed a cool Zelda backpack into her travel pack with bedroll. The best part of that con was getting to be part of a BotW cosplay featurette video with IGN, and take a fun set of photos with my friends Slaahv (seen here as a Yiga clan person) and Li Kovacs. I'd like to tweak a few things before I wear her again, but she's a fun character to embody and I like the way she rounds out the cast in group photos. (outdoor photos by the amazing Li Kovacs)
