I planned a meetup at Oakland, PA's Cathedral of Learning. While they wouldn't let us shoot in the Nationality Rooms when we went to do the right thing and buy passes instead of just walking on in like most people do (which is honestly a first, I've never had issues before!) we were able to get some good pictures outdoors.
Unfortunately my flash died (RIP) so I wasn't able to get very good pictures inside the Cathedral--the lighting is a nightmare. But I did learn some things like REFLECTORS ARE AMAZING and it was great practice for next time. I wasn't able to get many photos of my own costume, either, as I got really sick from the heat and had to take it off after just an hour!
Many thanks to everyone who attended and let me practice! I will be planning another shoot--my goal is to have them every two months--and they are open to ANYONE! Of course, if the ratio of people vs photographer gets too lopsided, I'll have to figure something out....
