White fabric is some super soft stretch fabric I got at Joann's for 60% off and bridal lining. Blue is medical scrub fabric. I looked forever and ordered a million swatches to find the most accurate color I could possibly find. I think I did a decent job! Satin ribbon was used on the little lines on the collar/cuffs. Red cording for the front detail. Invisible zipper used for the sailor top and the underdress.
Sailor top: I used a Japanese book that had a sailor uniform pattern and modified it. I ended up having to keep cutting off inches from the bottom to make it reach just below my bust. It's all lined and understitched at the bottom so it doesn't flip out and show. Invisible zipper is on the side so I can get in and out with no ugly back seam. It's pretty snug all around except for the extra inch around the bust. Collar was altered to make the sharp angles in the front and the curve of the collar in the back. Satin ribbon was stitched and altered to make it curve to the blue. Top stitched on the white, I added a little lining that flips to the inside of the collar so you cannot see the stitch marks and puffs up the collar a bit. I did a basic sleeve pattern and added the cuffs.
Underdress: It's just a fitted dress altered and shortened to fit what I imagined was the design for Rutile considering it's a shirt with a flair? I didn't want to have a basic straight top seeing as how it's supposed to be flirty at the bottom. Originally I think the pattern was at least knee length size, so I had to measure the length of where I wanted the dress to actually sit in the end. Cant remember how much I had to take out but it was a decent chunk. Also lined and understiched. Has an invisible zipper in the back along the seams so you can't tell it's there. It fits very nicely at the top and I love the way the bottom lays.
Ears/Tail: I actually got lucky and my wonderful roommate gave me some of her extra gray fabric she had. We did a combination of a gray and blue to get the color to be relatively close to the wig for matching purposes. Some of the paint didn't stay but overall still pretty happy with the results. The ears and tails all have wire to them. White fur is longer fur from another friend I used on my Black Cat. I shaved off the top part of the long fur for the ears to make the nice bushy part on the bottom. Along with the fact I didn't want the ears to be SUPER fluffy when I cured them. Ears are sewed to the wig and the tail has an elastic band that going with the black belt I have holding it up.
Shoes were bought from Walmart in the little boys section. Spats were ordered off ebay. I just attached the bell to the red cording which was tucked under the collar of the sailor top. Nothing too fancy!
