This costume was created for WCS 2010. It was 2 weeks of grueling patterning, appliqueing, fabric dying.... and a whole lot more!

some unique notes:

-The skirt is real silk and was originally white! I used silk dyes, and created the gradient you see all by dipping, re-dipping over and over in my apartment's bathtub. With natural fibers you don't necessarily need heat for the color to stay and penetrate the fibers. Do no use dyes meant for natural fibers on synthetics, it won't stay! You will have a whole mess of problems like bleeding when wet, the color may rub off even if it's dry!

-Gold designs are heat-n-bonded down. Each design was hand-drawn by me, then transferred onto heat-n-bond, then applied to each garment piece.

-All garment pattern pieces were made from scratch- the leg pieces and the halter top were the most challenging.
