Oscar followed a similar nutty path that D'Eon did in terms of historical influence. In both cases, I wanted to give a historical feel without losing the design that people would recognize. A lot of this came in choosing materials. While D'Eon was more about silk, Oscar was wool. Wool melton, to be precise. The stuff is heavy but the jacket looks every bit military as a result.

The embroidery machine was used on Oscar's cuffs and collar, and I learned military braidwork to make all the drape cords. There are a variety of styles, but I made a point to learn the one that would make them look braided, as they tend to look in the art.

There is a second set of silver epaulettes that were made for the outfit, to match the look of the anime. However, I need to make her brown belt OR her blue jacket before I can wear them.
