Made in 2002 for A-kon 13, then worn to Animefest 2004 (I think? I'm going by old memory lol) as well, with friends! And again reprised when more friends had Chrono Crusade costumes! I love this costume the most out of all the ones I made in my 20s, and would love to remake it again. Azmaria is my favorite character... if you can't tell.

I LOVE the Chrno Crusade manga. The anime is an entirely different story... but back when the manga was obscure, my roomate got me into it. I thought that insecure little Asmaria was such a sweet character, and I love the color pink. My friends were going as Rosette, Chrno, and Sister Kate so I wanted to go as Asmaria with them. :) People say her hair is purple, but the images I had were pink! :O

I bought a jacket pattern, and modified it. It was really tricky because I had to sew each panel of the jacket seperately. They're only connected at the sleves, and the shoulders. The sides are held together with little buttons. I didn't have time to do that though, because they were an odd shape. I just stitched them together at a small point there instead. The pink paneling drove me nuts. I had to make a bit of yellow underneath it too, and it was all just experimenting to get it right. I wore a white shirt and pleated miniskirt underneath it. I found some pink shoes in the kids section, and fortunately they fit me. I don't think they came any bigger. c_c Finding the wig was tricky, but I lucked out in the end.
