This armor was a labor of love, crafted on and off over several months.
I started off with the Mass Effect 2 templates from Narayas, but quickly ended up drafting my own because I wanted to make the ME3 armor and both armor sets present many differences.
The armor is EVA foam and craft foam, and I used a dremel and sand paper to clean the raw edges. Most of the pieces were formed using a heatgun, and I used my oven on a low setting to heat up the larger ones. I weathered everything using a hot knife, and then primed the pieces with several layers of mod podge, plastidip and flexbond. I painted everything using rustoleum spray paint in carbon black, hand painted the silver and black details, then dry brushed the seperate pieces with dark gray and silver. The red and white stripes on the right arm were made using painter's tape + red/white rustoleum spray paint. Once everything was dry, I sealed it all using the rustoleum spray varnish (satin finish).
The rig was made using a mix of nylon mesh, elastic straps and velcro! Thanks a ton to Nathan DeLuca who helped me with figuring out the harness used on the chest and torso portion of the armor, and for helping with the led backpack!
The m-6 Carnifex heavy pistol was 3D printed by AON3D, then primed, sanded and painted by me.
My wig is an Arda Jane (it was meant to be) in Dark Copper Red. I straightened out the curls using boiling water and styled the bangs afterwards.
I'm very proud of my first armor build! I definitely will be fixing up some things for the next time I wear it, but so far I'm happy with its 1st Montreal ComicCon run!
