iFly Airlines babe!

I decided to make this costume a few months before attending Anime North 2011 since I wanted to make it a tradition to have a new Ace Attorney cosplay every time I'd go to that particular convention, and Investigations was still pretty recent ;) When I talked to a friend about making Rhoda, she jumped on the occasion and asked me to make her a iFly uniform so she could cosplay as Cammy with me! Of course, I can never say no to a group project! I hadn't started collecting the materials anyway, so we had perfectly matching outfits ^_^ I have to say I'm glad that we are among the only Rhoda and Cammy cosplayers, hehe~

I'm especially happy with the fabrics I chose, the white one in particular was opaque enough, and the blue ribbon was the perfect colour! But there is also a decision I regret making for this costume. I remembered some tips about "making your costume tailored to yourself" I had heard about at a panel about cosplay tailoring, a while back. Mostly, that tip was given regarding skirt length (which is more than often too short to feel comfortable in it if you want to be screen-accurate...) And so, I decided to actually make this skirt shorter than the original illustration, so it would look more flattering on me. I'm really short, and, taking into account both the cosplay tip and fashion tips (a midi skirt would make me look like a dwarf!), I decided to shorten Rhoda's skirt a little, which was a mistake. In the end, not that big of a deal on the overall look, but looking at the pictures, I feel like I did a disservice to the character's personality.

I wouldn't be able to wear this costume anymore unless I get myself a wig for her, since I used my real hair, back when it was 80 cm long...! But I would love to take her out again.
