This costume was inspired by shoomlah's historically accurate Disney princesses, but is not an exact copy of her design! I decided to go for more of an Elizabethan era style.
I used the Simplicity 3782 pattern to construct the underskirt and overdress. The bodice is made from a navy faux suede, while the sleeves, underskirt, and overdress skirt are made from various upholstery fabrics. Red satin was used in the shoulder rolls and for the waist tabs. The partlet is white embellished cotton. Hand-dyed red lace, gold metallic lace, white lace, and many, many cream and red glass pearls were used as embellishments in the costume.
I made the headband by wrapping a white band with red satin ribbon and made the bow from a wired red satin ribbon. The snood is hand crocheted and embellished with cream pearls.
The bodice jewelry includes a pearl necklace and a red jewel brooch.
