Skirt: The skirt was made with a light blue silk chiffon woven with silver threads. It's backed with a light blue peachskin, and ombre dyed on the top third to blend from ice blue to a more turquoise blue. It is lined with a purple flannel backed satin. I used the pattern in the Simplicity 1215 packet, but needed to fit the hips and fix the slit (put it on the correct side, and compensate for being a shorty).
Corset: I started with my usual Simplicity 5006 made with three layers (blue cotton, coutil, and Elsa print cotton lining). It's double boned with plastic zip ties. The rectangles were made with a frosted vinyl that I painted with pearlescent paints, then cut with a rotary cutter in different rectangle sizes. I glued them to the corset with E6000 in layers to get the effect I wanted. Finally, the corset is embellished with regular and rectangle aurora borealis rhinestones. Underneath the rectangle layer, there is a strand of blue LED lights sewn in for extra sparkle magic.
Undershirt: This was patterned from an existing off the shoulder raglan top I owned. I cut the pattern pieces from white power mesh and dyed that to be the correct shade of blue for my project. The sleeves are ombre dyed. I sewed up the shoulder seams before embellishing the sleeves and upper part of the bodice with aurora borealis rhinestones. Finally, I sewed up the side seams, hemmed the top edge with clear elastic, and added finger loops to the sleeves.
Cape: The cape is made of seven tulle panels I self drafted to begin at 50 inches long, and end in a total length of 90 inches. It is embellished with blue iridescent organza cut into different snowflake shapes, secured on by fusible web, and sealed with Mod Podge. There are roughly 1000 rhinestones glued on for extra sparkle. It attaches to the corset with Velcro for easy removal.
Shoes: Originally the shoes were golden snakeskin d'orsay pumps from DSW. I glued foam designs to the heel and toe, and sealed them with caulk before painting them with pearlescent paints. The foam parts have since been upgraded to thermoplastic embellishments of the same size and shape.
Wig: Arda Suzi Classic & extra wefts in titanium blonde, braided and styled in curls. Snowflake hair twists finish off the look
