There was a mini convention held one weekend run by ColossalCon and we wanted to do an easy, casual group cosplay that we could all put together with little effort and even littler funds as a lot of people in our group don't have the time or resources for cosplay. We knew it was going to be Sailor Moon since Crystal had just come out, and after muc brainstorming (some of the ideas that resulted from this being both horrifying and disturbing), we decided on making a pun out of "Sailor Scouts."
I scoured the internet to see if anyone had done this before and was very surprised to not get any results back. AS much as I don't want to say we were the first to do this, we just might be? Not sure!
Anyway, it was super fun. We had a giant circle skirt sewing party involving two of group sewing and everyone else pinning and figuring out the sash pattern. Each scout hand-made their own badges so that they reflect the character traits of the character. For example, Usagi has badges for failing class, sleeping, being late, and having awesome hair.
My dearest cosplay friend Kelsey designed AWESOME girl scout cookie boxes that were extremely detailed (even the ingredients columns changed for each character) and reflected our characters. I got to carry around the delicious Moon Tiara Tagalongs!
