Anna was a hell of a costume. This costume burnt me out and I'm just now getting into cosplay again after taking an 8 month break from it simply because this thing took so much of my time and energy.
I chose to use felt for the skirt as a cheaper alternative to wool. It was nice because it maintained a nice full shape that helped the embroidered details on the skirt stand out. All of the designs on the bottom of the skirt were hand embroidered during a time when I was working two jobs, so all of my free time was taken up by watching Farscape and embroidering into the sun. Every time I heard "Let it Go!" I was reminded of how much work I had yet to do...
The blouse, bodice (also hand embroidered)and boots, were all finished the day before (and the day of) the debut convention, and I never did have time to work on the cape. I do have the materials for that, so I intend on completing this project another time when I'm a bit more refreshed and inspired!
I was able to wear this costume to work ( one of my jobs is a customer service associate at a grocery store), and it was awesome being able to be recognized by the younger children in a way that my other cosplays can't be.
Skills acquired: Hand embroidery, cutting fabric trim to match a pattern (as opposed to using bias tape)
