First/second cosplay (begun after Ruby but finished first). The costume was easy to make, even for a beginner, and can definitely be pinpointed as an incredible learning experience when I look back upon it. While it was nowhere near neat or well made, I enjoyed it immensely at the time.
- RETIRED -
Components:
- Skirt -
The skirt was a simple circle skirt which ended slightly past my knees. An elastic waistband was stitched at the top of the skirt to ensure that it fit properly.
- Shirt -
The shirt was originally a size 20 women's long sleeve t-shirt that I took in and painted on in order to get the long sleeve effect. At the time, I didn't know that material that stretches normally requires the use of a different stitch, so the shirt now has a few holes in it.
- Socks -
Black and white stripy socks that were bought at a market.
- Shoes -
The shoes were originally black ballet flats that were painted with a few layers of red and then numerous layers of red glitter were modge-podged on top. Unfortunately the paint cracks and flakes off now, probably due to the fact that it was not properly sealed.
- Hood -
Made thanks to the use of a tutorial.
- Ears -
The ears were made with white faux fur, wire and kitchen foil. The wire was bent in a shape resembling ears, which the foil was then wrapped around and further shaped to simulate the concave shape of the ears. The fur was then hot glued on to the foil. After that, the ears were glued onto a headband (I would recommend finding a headband with a large width or even a better method as the ears were extremely floppy.)
- Glasses -
Meant to be fake Harry Potter glasses. Also bought.
- Wig -
A cheap, $8 wig from Ebay. I would highly recommend investing in a higher quality wig
