The wings were originally articulated, strapped to my chest with belts, and had a wingspan of about 8 feet. That mechanism was quite weak and fell apart, so the new version uses the same wing structure but attached to a cannibalised rucksack. IT now only reaches 7 feet and is not as impressive as the fully feathered articulated ones some people have made (yes I have wing envy there), but its light, fairly easy to wear, and I can actually move around in it without knocking everything over. Most importantly - shadow wings are what you actually see in the show, so I claim technical victory! The best kind of victory!

Also they flutter when I walk, which is cool.
