The last time I attempted making a Princess Leia costume was when I first got into Star Wars back in middle school. My grandma had helped me sew it together in time for my grade's Halloween party. The gown turned out alright, but my hair was not much past shoulder length, making it a bit difficult to pull off the cinnamon bun hairstyle. All in all, I made a pretty dorky Leia. Several years later I am still in love the original trilogy, so I decided to make her Hoth snowsuit from The Empire Strikes Back.

I decided to save myself some stress for the con I was initially trying to complete it for by making the Escape from Bespin version. After that con was over, I started working on the full version found in the beginning of the movie.

The snowsuit was interesting to make. I was lucky enough to find someone's blog where they broke down how they made their own.

The two braids in my hair are fake. My hair is pulled up into a bun, while the braids are attached in a hair tie, and the ends hidden. It took a couple of attempts, but I can manage to style my hair this way by myself now.
