This was also Debuted at ALA 2010. I eventually entered it at Conduit 2010, where it won Best of Show Construction.
This version of Yuuko is from a video game called "xxxHolic: Watanuki no Izayoi Souwa" as the case cover. It's inspired by an 1890's dress. You can't see the bottom of it, but with the period it's inspired from and the style of the top, I decided that scallops with and under layer of the pink taffeta I was using would combine well. The ruffling layer of voile around the bottom is also a style often used to embellish gowns during that era.
Over all this dress ate 96 yards of fabric. It has two petticoats, one steel boned bustle, and a corset for understructure. The dress it's self consists of an underskit, a bustle addition with netting for extra boost, and over skirt with swaging, an over bustle with tucking to look like a butterfly, a bodice, and a collar piece; as well as a hat and Parasol. I made everything myself, and I'm so pleased with how it turned out!
