Azula, My most cosplayed character yet. This was the first costume I did that had so many layers. I made the top half to small, since I was going off a kids pattern. I was still learning patterns at this time, and did not realize until it was to late that the pattern was cut on the small size. So i had to go back in and add into the side sections on both the arm and bodice. I eventually went back years later and remade the top red shirt since I was so fed up with not being able to bend over with out having to readjust my shirt. I also remade the collar since the bottom layer was spandex and i burned the back of it not realizing the hotel iron was set to high. ALWAYS BRING YOUR OWN IRON NEVER TRUST THE HOTEL ONES!

For the bottom half, I just made a wrap skirt and safety pinned it on me. It is easier for me this way, since my weight always goes down right before a con drastically. I forget to eat when I am sewing.

The collar portion of the costume has 3 layers of interfacing. One heavy duty, two lightweight fusible interfacing. I always do this to make my collars pop.

For the crown I just used craft foam and glued fabric on top of it, and than glued a ribbon at the base of it to tye around my wig.

To be honest, I forgot how many times I have worn this costume to a convention. Because she is my favorite character, and I have to control myself from remaking her every time a convention comes around. I needed to make something else.
