I had never played Bioshock or its sequel when I rented Bioshock Infinite in the summer of 2013, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Naturally, I loved it. That said, I never would have dreamed of cosplaying Elizabeth. She’s quite young and petite, and I really don’t look anything like her. However, once plans got rolling for C2E2, a Bioshock group assembled (somewhat accidentally?), and Nora suggested I make Elizabeth’s Burial at Sea outfit. It would be pretty easy and really inexpensive, both of which sounded good to me (working full time + grad school + minimum wage = Elizabeth).

Thus, Elizabeth was born. I'd never actually styled a wig before, so AnnElizaWig (as she is now affectionately known) was an absolute beast. It looks different in every photo, and I've still not managed to style it like it is in the game. That said, this costume is all kinds of fun to wear, particularly because the Bioshock fan community is amazing.
