Super Sailor Chibi Moon
I debuted Chibi Moon at A-kon 2013.
I had to make this costume to pay homage to my childhood. Sailors are a bit overdone in the cosplay community and so it didn't draw that much attention (one of us), but I am glad I did it. My dream for this cosplay is to one day be apart of a full cast of Super Sailors, so hit me up ladies if you need a Chibi Moon. ;D Peace and Love!
I used sparklepipsi's Sailor Fuku tutorial for some of the basic measurements. http://pinkjusticecosplay.deviantart.com/art/Sailor-Fuku-Cosplay-Tutorial-331557052
I did end up making a lot of adjustments to the patterns, but the tutorial was a great help to get started. The toughest part was trying to get the hip flaps to lay flat. I ended up stuffing the rolls after attaching everything. I designed a pattern for the back bow, which I plan to make a tutorial on later, the hip flaps and the sleeves petals.
The bell is made from a mix of worbla and air dry clay and was Jace's first attempt at Worbla.
The tiara, brooches, earrings and hair accessories were bought from Unique Cosplay Props on Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/shop/UniqueCosplayProps
The original wig was bought on Amazon from the seller Kasou. In 2014, I re-purposed the wig to make it more accurate and learn a little about wig styling. I spent two days sewing in extra wefts to the pig tails. I took the buns apart and glued them onto a styrofoam base. I am much happier with the new style. Now that I have a little experience, I may try to make a more adult long pigtailed version for her Princess dress.
The boots were bought on ebay from Catzia. http://www.ebay.com/usr/catzia
Overall, with all the accessories and different materials this is my most expensive costume so far. I think this ended up costing me about $300-$400.
