I made this costume in about a week while I was home after having my wisdom teeth removed. It was so much fun to make even though almost everything in my house was covered in that faux mink fabric! Main fabric is anti-pill fleece and yes, I was pretty much sweating all day. This was my first stuffed animal as well as my first backpack! Wig is from Arda Wigs!
Construction and etc...:
I am ridiculously proud of this costume. While there are some things that I'm not happy with about it (which I won't mention) they are very very small issues that I was willing to look over. This costume really taught me that sometimes you just have to do a little bit more work to achieve great visual effects.
I originally patterned the top part as a traditional jacket: right front, left front, back and sleeves. I had the pieces cut out when I decided to take it a step further and turn each of those pieces into sections that ended up getting sewed together to recreate each respective piece of the pattern. Sure, it took a little extra time, but the ending result was well worth it.
One thing I will brag on and on about (probably in person too) is the zipper on this costume. IT'S REALLY GOOD OKAY. Definitely the best zipper I've ever done.
The hood was originally just going to have the fur around the edges, but I decided that lining the whole thing would look better (and be a lot warmer apparently).
Tibbers was my first stuffed animal and he was probably the most fun part of this project. You see, Tibbers is probably one of the best stuffed buddies because he looks ragged and worn in-game; so if you accidentally rip one of his arms off trying to stuff him... well he only looks better.
Fun fact: My backpack (which you can't actually see in any of these photos) is actually functional and can carry a good bit of weight (specifically 3 smartphones, a hinged wallet, lipgloss, several business cards, eyedrops, 2 contact lense cases, a lighter and some tissues.)
