18 yards of chiffon and over 40 hours of work in the spiral ruffled skirt alone. Underneath the costume is a corset built using Yaya Han's overbust corset pattern. I also built the hoop skirt and petticoat. The bodice is poly shantung and lined with octopus fabric. I hand stitched lace applique onto the bodice and I put black crystals on for embellishment. The wig is Arda Wig's Matilda in silver with a package of gray silky wefts sewn in. I made a homemade wig dryer with a cardboard box and a hair dryer and set the curls into the wig by keeping it in there. Then I sewed a metal frame into the wig and pinned the hair up to that.
