The entire costume is double layered to give it both the stiffness and opaque quality I wanted out of the fabric. The sleeves alone are 6 yards of fabric! The red underneath the collar is sewn into it and secured with snaps to keep the costume lightweight, the sleeve and hem red accents are sewn in as well. The wig is by far the most notable part of this costume, I used Arda's Greta as a base (the Katinka was out of stock at the time) with the Delilah, their longest wig, cut in half and sewn back together to make the floor-length pigtails.

This costume was a dream to make, Chobits was my FIRST manga back when I would spend my after school hours in Barnes and Noble, and I always wanted to dress up as Kotoko as a kid, so being able to do it now as an adult was nice. Plus I adore the outfit!
